Indian Cross-Stitch & Beadwork

Honoring Tradition Through Craftsmanship

At Big Horn Design & Art Gallery in Billings, MT, we proudly offer authentic Native American–inspired cross-stitch and beadwork services, both repair and custom design. Kay, one of our co-owners, has spent years studying traditional beadwork and quillwork techniques, learning directly from Native American teachers through the International Brotherhood programs. Her work is a continuation of those rich traditions, crafted with deep respect and intention.

Cross-Stitch Repairs & Restoration

Cross-stitch pieces are delicate, often passed down through generations or lovingly created for special occasions. When your piece is damaged, whether by loose threads, tears, or frayed edges, we can restore it with care and precision.

We handle all repairs in-house and offer:

  • Matching thread colors and patterns
  • Patchwork for torn or hole-damaged fabric
  • Re-stitching loose areas with accuracy
  • Preservation framing options to protect your piece

Every stitch is placed by hand, with close attention to honoring the original design and keeping its story intact.

Craftsmanship With Cultural Respect

Kay’s beadwork and cross-stitch artistry are rooted in tradition, guided by years of hands-on experience and a dedication to preserving Native American methods. Every project is personal, and no detail is too small.

Beadwork Repair & Custom Design

From intricate regalia to decorative art pieces, beadwork tells stories that matter. If your beaded piece is missing elements or has been worn over time, we can restore it using high-quality beads that match the original colors and textures.

We also create custom beadwork on request, crafted from scratch with your input and preferences. Whether you're envisioning a new piece inspired by tradition or wanting to recreate something meaningful, Kay’s craftsmanship ensures every bead is placed with purpose.
